Art / Sewing
The Art Department is a fun and educational addition to our growing arts facility. Students are trained in different art genres by four professional art teachers with varying backgrounds and experiences. Classes will be offered for ages 3 yrs old to adults. Register now, spaces are limited!
* All classes must meet a student minimum of 7 or 8.
Based on registration minimums, classes will also be available in: Drawing, Photography, Painting, Design, Weaving, Quilting, Art Appreciation, Arts & Crafts, Murals, Ceramics, Printmaking, Floral Design, Textiles, Jewelry, Contemporary, Collage and more…
The Following Classes are available for 2007-2008:
Arts & Crafts - Each week children ages 3 to 5 will dabble in a variety of projects to take home. Through this class they will learn to create and have fun with crayons, paint, beads, textured paper and many other mediums.
Painting Techniques - Have fun while learning basic drawing and painting techniques to help create amazing pictures. Work with a variety of materials including pencil, charcoal, watercolor paints, acrylics and more. Learn about the color wheel, a variety of artists and different styles of painting.
Sewing Techniques - For teens and adults begins with an overview of the sewing machine, basic stitches, choosing the appropriate settings and stitching correctly. You will compare fabrics; create projects with appliqué, applying trim, ruffle and cording. *You must bring your own machine and fabric for some projects.
Mosaic - This 4-week workshop will be held in November. Mosaic offers students endless possibilities to create beautiful pieces of art out of ceramic, marble, glass or old dishes. Supplies to be determined.

Painting Techniques (Ages 6-9) - Thursdays, 5:00 - 6:15pm
Sewing Techniques (Ages 8+) - Tuesdays, 5:00 - 6:15pm
